Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Haggerston
Man with Van Haggerston is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to minimise the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and our supply chains. It applies to all staff, workers, contractors, agency personnel and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Man with Van Haggerston.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Haggerston operates a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation. We are committed to acting with integrity in all business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur in our operations or supply chains.
No form of abuse, coercion, debt bondage, child labour or inhumane working conditions will be tolerated. We expect the same level of commitment from everyone we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors and business partners. Where we identify a risk or breach, we will take decisive action, which may include suspending or terminating relationships with those who do not meet our standards.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Man with Van Haggerston provides transport and relocation services, relying on vehicles, equipment, storage facilities, and labour provided by a range of suppliers and partners. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and labour providers, including temporary agencies.
We recognise that certain sectors associated with logistics, temporary labour and manual work can be at greater risk of labour exploitation. As such, we focus our efforts on these higher-risk areas and expect all suppliers within them to demonstrate robust labour and human rights practices.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require our key suppliers and subcontractors to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws and to uphold our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing review processes, we may request information about their policies, training, working conditions, and recruitment practices.
Where proportionate and risk-based, we conduct audits or assessments of suppliers. These may take the form of questionnaires, document reviews, interviews or site visits where appropriate. We focus particularly on suppliers who provide labour, such as staffing agencies and subcontracted teams, as well as suppliers operating in sectors or regions identified as higher risk.
If a supplier is unable to provide satisfactory evidence that modern slavery risks are being managed, we will collaborate with them to improve standards within a set timeframe. Continued non-compliance may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting routes or directly to management. Reports can be made confidentially and, where requested, anonymously.
All concerns are taken seriously and investigated promptly. We are committed to ensuring that no person who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up. Where a case of modern slavery or serious risk is identified, we will act quickly to protect affected individuals and notify the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Training and Awareness
We seek to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and supervision of frontline operations. Training and guidance are provided so that staff can recognise signs of exploitation and understand how to respond to concerns and escalate issues responsibly.
We also seek to communicate our expectations clearly to suppliers and partners so that they understand our standards and their responsibilities in preventing modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
Monitoring and Annual Review
Man with Van Haggerston is committed to continuous improvement in the identification, prevention and mitigation of modern slavery risks. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through supplier reviews, incident reporting, investigation outcomes and feedback from workers and partners.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually, or more frequently if there are significant changes in our operations, supply chains, legal requirements or identified risks. The review considers the adequacy of our policies, due diligence activities, training and reporting mechanisms and identifies areas for further enhancement.
This Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Haggerston and reflects our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
